Our Team at Minuteman Press Poole
Minuteman Press, Poole is a family printing and design business that prides itself on its emphasis on traditional customer service that is so often lost in today's world. Our working methods are still based on personable contact with our clients - listening to their requirements and offering sound advice and expertise, rather than the impersonal and automated 'Click Here' method.
Our staff have many year's experience within the design and print industry. Working closely as a team, on your behalf, we provide experience and knowledge to help you make the most of your marketing, advertising and printing budgets.

Nicky Durant-Lewis - Managing Director of Minuteman Press Poole
Nicky started Minuteman Press, Poole in 1996 with her father Jonathan, after gaining a Business Degree at Cardiff University. Today, after 26 years in the Print Industry, her main role is offering an Advisory and Consultancy Service for clients of Minuteman Press, Poole.
Nicky works with our clients, looking at numerous aspects of their business (much more than just print), to help improve efficiencies and effectiveness, including print and marketing budgets. With a keen eye for detail and a business background it is amazing how much a 'printer' can identify, that your business can benefit from, and she enjoys the challenge that this varied role provides.
When Nicky is not working she is mad about her animals. After volunteering for The Margaret Green Rescue Centre it didn't take her long to bring one of their furry friends home - so her latest love, sidekick and member of the Minuteman team is 'Yogi', a beautiful Alaskan Malamute, who is our shop dog. Together they are regularly spotted around the local area walking miles...and miles...and visiting the 'occasional' coffee shop and pub for a rest! -
Mark Brown - Operations Manager
Mark has worked with Minuteman Press, Poole since April 2010 and is responsible for the day to day operation of the business.
Mark started in the print industry in 1992 with a Graphic Design apprenticeship and work placement. With over 20 years' experience in lithographic and digital printing he brings a wide range of expertise and knowledge to the team.
Mark has a broad range of skills and will turn his hand to all areas of the business - customer service, digital print production, estimating, finishing and general administration etc. He is a general all rounder who thrives on being busy.
Mark's other main role is as a very involved Uncle to his sister's 3 boys. He loves spending time with them, winding them up and then handing them back.
Mark is a huge fan of cars and motorsport! His most recent thrill was a birthday present of driving a Ferrari 458 around the Thruxton circuit. He enjoys socialising with friends, photography and spending time outdoors. -
Melanie Dare - Customer Service
Melanie is the one of the main faces of our Customer Service team and can be found at our front counter and answering telephone enquiries.
Melanie has been in the digital print industry for over 30 years. Starting in a small copy shop in Poole when leaving school, and then progressing to a larger establishment (one that shall not be named!) where she ran the copying and printing department for 18 years.
You will often find Mel and her husband out at weekends on their mountain or road bikes, cycling the country lanes of Dorset - they are both very keen cyclists (but bike repairs are no issue as her husband runs the local bike repair shop!)
Swimming, aquafit and dog walking are amongst her other passions in life. -
Paul Chamberlain - Graphic Designer
Paul followed his father into the print trade in 1986, completing a 2 year BTEC in printing and graphic production, followed by a 4 year apprenticeship in colour scanning and retouching - back in the days when this was a true art form requiring immense skill and expertise!
His varied career has seen him; producing artwork for food and drink packaging cartons, colour correcting fine art limited edition prints, creating 3D displays and designing general print, booklets and brochures.
He has extensive knowledge of the general print industry with experience in lithographic and screen printing, and his last 10 years were spent in the large format exhibition industry - managing all aspects of production and installation.
Paul married and moved down to Poole in 2003 and has 2 lovely children. After 10 years in exhibitions Paul has now returned to his first love of “Creative Graphics” - that is when he is not on the water sailing or helping out with the local Sea Scouts. -
Yogi Bear - Customer Service & PR Representative / Stress Consultant / Delivery Boy
Yogi Bear, an Alaskan Malamute, joined the team in November 2016. Originally from Margaret Green Animal Rescue www.margaretgreenanimalrescue.org.uk, Nicky found him when she volunteered at the Lincoln Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre for Dogs in Bere Regis. He was one of their longest standing residents at 120 days and the kennel girls loved him!
He often goes back to his first loving home at Margaret Green Rescue Centre - we think it speaks volumes about the centre that he gets really happily excited when he goes back to visit and joins them for their open days and events.
Yogi can generally be found relaxing in his 'kennel' (designed by our Graphic Designer Paul) in the window of our shop in Ashley Cross, much to the amusement of children and passers by.
